Strubby Airfield Kart Racing

Woodthorpe Kart Club meets on an ex-RAF World War II bomber base in Lincolnshire. It is known locally as 'Strubby airfield' but unlike many airfield tracks, we have the benefit of a complete tarmac circuit which includes gradients in addition to flat areas. The track was laid out some years ago but has been altered on several occasions since so as to provide a fast and challenging circuit for all classes.

Off track, there is ample parking and camping facilities (for which there is no charge!) and a restaurant and public house within half a mile for those who wish to indulge on Saturday night. (that said, competitors may be breathalysed before racing so please don't overdo it!).

Equally so, for those who wish to simply enjoy peace on their Saturday evening the Club has designated a 'quiet area' at the far end of the paddock and members are asked to respect this. There are also several guest-houses in the nearby area should you wish to take advantage of these. The Club has the use of one of the RAF buildings and this houses the signing-on office and includes toilet and washing facilities. We are presently beginning improvements to these facilities with building work commencing shortly and it is hoped to update and provide shower facilities. Please be patient!

Overall, Woodthorpe Kart Club strives to provide an enjoyable weekend experience for drivers and their families alike and whilst racing is obviously a competitive sport, we do not tolerate behaviour which does not promote a friendly atmosphere both on and off track.
